*The date is July 7th, 2012 and Ghost Town Operations is making a house call. Myself, Justin Cimock, and Zack Cushman assume the regular battle stations in the truck owned and operated by John Cushman. The house in question is in the North East corner of the city of Las Vegas and is formerly owned by lawyer James ”Bucky” Buchanan, R.I.P. In 2009, he suffered a heart attack while entering his driveway and crashed into the wall with his Ferrari. He was 74.
*We entered the address into the navigation app of Justin’s phone but this area is one of those where there aren’t even street lights to see the house’s numbers, so we were momentarily lost. Then we heard a friendly voice call to us as we passed the house. We were greeted by the mother of the house, her daughter, a family friend, and the daughter’s boyfriend. Chef Daniel soon arrives and we unload the stuff to get to it.
*We set up 4 cameras and a couple plasma globes. Once in the house, one of my first reactions was “that dog’s making funny noises.” That’s because the “dog”, in question was actually a house broken Pot Belly Pig named Jackson. There is also a defender-of-the-house dog named Bear. The mother gives us a tour and explains some of the experiences they’ve had. What first stuck out to me was the swimming pool. Since this family moved in the veteran maintainers of the pool abruptly resigned due to frustrations with the algae. Even the new owners, who themselves are experienced in pool maintenance, are having a hard time getting control of the situation. The element of water is usually a barrier of spirits, not a medium of them. Included in this tour were the mentions of full-body apparitions seen in the backyard and the added-on section, near where “Bucky” himself died.
*Back in the main room, we’re preparing to begin the investigation and I’m assigned with taping down the camera leads to the floor. After I tore off a piece of tape, I rested the roll flatly on the bar. Somehow, in front of both the daughter and her boyfriend the roll of tape flung itself to the ground. Strange. Afterwards, we socialize for a bit and check out the cameras. Orb activity is rampant, and I saw a shadow figure move from right to left on one of the monitors. It’s now time to turn off the lights and begin.
*The Ovilus voice box is being pretty responsive. EMF meters are showing results, however my interest in the pool outside didn’t show much activity for some reason. The most active room by far was the added-on section. We sat there for a bit and the daughter’s boyfriend quickly ran out yelling that he was grabbed on the shoulder. I myself was touched on my left wrist three major times, and two minor times. Zack Cushman felt a hand touch his shoulder too. He was equipped with the digital audio recorder and he heard a mocking tone respond to some of his statements. After the walk through, we decided to conclude the investigation with an EVP session in the living room.
*Before we even get started, the sound of a cordless power drill seemed to have come out of thin air, twice. We turn off the lights and concentrate on recording audio. John Cushman is listening in on a 6 second delay through headphones. We hear some anomalous sounds emanating from who-knows- where and we puzzled over it out loud. The funny part was that 6 seconds later John Cushman did the same. Haha. At this point the hour is getting late and we’ve collected a lot of material. We unanimously concur that the house is pretty darn active. It turns out that another unexplained soundcame from a walkie-talkie. It was previously turned off and packed with our gear. How it turned on, is beyond us.We experienced nearly everything short of shaking an apparition’s hand. With that said, we packed the equipment, thanked everyone for the experience, and chalked it up to another successful night of paranormal investigations.
